Stop......In the name of dirt, (before you plug my rod)

 

Here's a trick I learned so I don't have to complain about my helper as much.  I use a broken Stop-pin in the Macro-CoreŽ sampler when we're open tube sampling.  The Stop-pin prevents an accumulation of soil back into the rods.  And while we're on the subject of recycling broken parts, a broken Piston rod is just the ticket to clean the Drive Head for the Macro-CoreŽ sampler or use a small diameter brush for the fine stuff.  If the tools are clean then the helper doesn't hear:

             " Get them #$%&! tools CLEAN "
